A Sherlockian fun-fact and an intriguing Conan Doyle video
January 04, 2015
Hi

I'm Megh from SherlockHolmes-Fan.com.

Hope you're doing great.

I want to wish you a really happy new year!

Let me start this month's Sherlock Holmes Gazette with...

The Weird and Crazy Sherlockian Fact of the Month

Did you know that...

According to Google themselves, they got around 12 million queries searching for 'Sherlock Holmes' in 2014?

That's quite a lot of people. Especially when you compare it to the population of New Zealand which is around 5 million. Or the population of Greece - which is around 11 million. Or Portugal - 10.5 million.

I'm happy there are so many people interested in Sherlock Holmes!

What's New at Sherlock Holmes Fan?

Quite a few things!

1 Megan's Question

Megan from Australia asked me a question: Who is the third Holmes brother? Where is he mentioned?

Well, here's my answer:

And if you want to ask me anything about Sherlock Holmes, go ahead, ask me here:

If I know the answer, I'll tell you. If I don't know the answer, I'll research the heck out of it and tell you whatever I know!

2 A Page About The Adventure of Black Peter

Have you read The Adventure of Black Peter? Some people say it's not that good a Sherlock Holmes story - but it's one of my favourites.

Here are some trivia and loads of interesting pictures about the story:

(You can read the page even if you haven't read the story - I won't spoil anything for you without showing you a spoiler alert ;-))

Time now for...

This Month's Special Sherlockian Sizzler...

I was thrilled to find a cool video of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on YouTube.

It's really him talking about how he came to write the Sherlock Holmes stories. It was interesting to take a peek at the real creator of Sherlock Holmes talking.

Here it is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eq18U5btcg

It's 10 minutes long. The first part is when Conan Doyle talks about Holmes. And yes, there are a few seconds when his dog is shown too!

Well, that's it for this month. :-)

Have an incredible month ahead. See you soon!
