Sherlock Holmes Statues + Sherlock Holmes' Birthday's Coming Up!
December 20, 2016
Hi

Megh here from SherlockHolmes-Fan.com.

Let's start off with:

The Fascinating Sherlockian Tid-bit of the Month

Do you know how many statues of Sherlock Holmes exist in public places across the world?

Apart from the umpteen wax figures of Holmes and the actors who've played him, there are...

...exactly 5 proper Sherlock Holmes statues in the world right now!

These statues are at:

* Baker Street Tube Station, London, England

* Picardy Place, Edinburgh, Scotland

* Smolenskaya Embankment, Moscow, Russia

* Bahnhofstrasse, Meiringen, Switzerland

* Oiwake, Karuizawa, Japan

Here's an interesting picture that shows all these statues!

Interesting Stuff From SherlockHolmes-Fan.com

Sherlock Holmes' Birthday is Approaching...

While Conan Doyle never mentioned Sherlock Holmes' birthday, January 6th is what most Sherlockians agree upon as the day Holmes was 'born.'

Here's a post about everything you wanted to know about Sherlock Holmes' birthday:

20 Fun Sherlockian Limericks!

Have you read these 20 limericks? They might just have you in splits:

Sherlockian Discoveries of the Month

This month, I discovered an interesting post about Sherlock Holmes cakes that was absolutely...delicious!

I bet you'll love looking at these cakes:

Another interesting find this month was this cool video of Arthur Conan Doyle from the 1920's! I think I've already shared this link once - but that link wasn't viewable across the world. This one is.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRr4VbBw5Gk&feature=youtu.be

If you love Sherlock Holmes, making lists and statistics (like I do!), you'll love this other interesting post I came across:

http://historicalsherlock.blogspot.in/2016/11/im-making-list.html

It's a list of different Sherlock Holmes stories which mention different occasions. For instance, how many Sherlock Holmes stories talk about the new year? That sort of stuff.

So, well, that's about it for now!

See you soon. :-)
